Global multi-disciplinary consulting engineers and designers, Cundall, approached Jackson Downes with the mission to move from a traditional fixed desk office into an inclusive agile workspace for their Manchester team.

The space has been designed with flexibility at the key to all design decisions, to provide all staff members with a choice on where they would like to sit depending on the task on that day.

Along with agile workstations, we introduced sit-stand desks, a multifunctional room for informal meetings with privacy curtains to allow the space to become a prayer or mothers room, high-tech meeting rooms, a focus room with high levels of acoustic privacy for private study or videoconferencing, a large collaboration space for meetings and events, and at the heart of the space is a communal kitchen with various seating arrangements for working and relaxing.

Jackson Downes delivered a sympathetic design to compliment the historic features that remain within the Grade II listed building, and high quality materials were specifically selected with sustainability at the forefront of the design.
